 | The Sony KDL-37P3020 is the first 37-inch panel in the Sony BRAVIA range. It uses the high picture performance Sony BRAVIA engine to fine-tune the picture and reduce signal interference resulting in smooth, clear images. The panel has a high contrast ratio, which coupled with the BRAVIA filtering system boosts low contrast images to make them richer and more realistic. The 37P3020 has Sony BRAVIA Theatre Sync technology, a new way of controlling home theatre setups using HDMI connections and a single remote control to operate the entire media system. Connectivity
This model has two HDMI sockets one at the back for a Sky HD system or Sony Playstation 3, the other socket is on the side for easy connection of a HD video camera etc. In addition, there are two SCART sockets, A/V sockets and an S-video socket for connection of a DVD player or none HD video camera or games console. This panel can act as a PC monitor by utilising the VGA socket on the back of the TV.

More about the BRAVIA engine
The BRAVIA engine improves picture quality using a technique called ‘comb filtration’ by decreasing cross colour distortion, dot crawl, and moiré (the distortion you get on patterns such as a check shirt). The engine improves the picture contrast by improving areas of poor contrast in the picture, creating a higher-contrast picture.
The engine boosts the tone range of the image by expanding the range of gradation between the colours and light and dark shades, ending in a much smoother image. The engine smoothes out motion shots, fast moving pictures on earlier LCD TV’s suffered from motion blur. Motion conversion, smoothes the diagonal lines of pixels in quick moving pictures. Preventing blocky edges and bleeding colours. This makes it ideal for sport and action sequences.
The BRAVIA engine deepens the greens and blues, they are generally two of the weakest colours, the BRAVIA engine specifically enhances them to brighten and deepen blue and green subjects.
